DesignBUILD welcomes ICCI as new international partner
Whether it's in architecture, design or the building and construction industry, Italian products are well-known to offer advanced solutions and innovation and a new partnership between DesignBUILD and The Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) promises to bring Italian innovation to the Australian market, at next year's event.
Designed to open up more avenues for trade, the partnership will allow Italian suppliers to better capitalise on the increasing demand for high quality, internationally respected products at the event.
“With Australian imports from Italy totalling over $5.5Billion in 2016, there is clearly a strong demand for the high quality of Italian craftsmanship in Australia,” said Jamie Butler-Underwood, DesignBUILD Event Manager.
“We want to be able to present the best showcase of products to our visitors and we’re excited that by working closer with the ICCI Melbourne, we can truly offer international inspiration and innovation to key buyers in the market,” added Butler-Underwood.
“The influence of Italian design and products in the building and construction industry in Australia has a long history. The contribution of Italian craftsmanship has been crucial in defining the Australian cities landscape. Nowadays, we are living a period where this legacy can be brought to the next level,” stated Vincenzo Esposito, ICCI Secretary-General.
“Italy is synonym not only of beautiful design and quality products but most importantly of innovation and advanced solutions that can help Australia in tackling the future number one challenge of sustainability,” added Esposito.
The increased pressure on specifiers and construction professionals to source sustainable and innovative products has seen demand for European products peak at DesignBUILD in recent years. The introduction of international alliances, such as the ICCI, will further establish DesignBUILD as a leading, industry platform for international manufacturers to access this highly sought after market.
DesignBUILD will take place at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre, 2nd – 4th of May 2018.
