Case Study: Cadence & Co Stables Project

Few of us are actually lucky enough to achieve the goal of permanently ‘getting away from it all,’ as is the case for Darren Mills – Co-founder of Cadence & Co, and owner and designer of this amazing project.

The country acreage is somewhat of a dream for a lot of us trapped in the hustle and bustle of the busy city. Rolling green hills, bushland, calm and quiet only occasionally broken by the crackle of the fireplace or a twitter of the wildlife outside. This property is tucked away in the foothills of Ku-Ring-Gai National Park. Although in close proximity to Sydney the tranquil stables and open fields make you feel worlds away from the noise and traffic of the city.

The main house, complete with outdoor fireplace and pool, overlooks beautiful timber stables. The design captures the perfect feel of the country, influenced by olden day American barns.

Natural timber panels by Weathertex have been used to create this look, and the raw Weathergroove Panels have been aged and battened to add to the overall rustic charm. The Weathergroove Panels are the largest panel available in the Australian market, so are perfect for this stable with its high triangular roof.

They give the effect of vertical cladding but with the quick installation of large panels. This is just one of the many reasons that make Weathertex the perfect choice for timber cladding, panels and weatherboards.

Weathertex products are 100% natural containing no glues, resins or binders and made from 97% Australian hardwood timber. Weathertex cladding is not only durable but also renewable and carbon neutral and has the credentials to back up those claims. Their third-party accreditations such as Global GreenTag, PEFC and Declare Program reinforce their commitment in providing transparency and playing a role in improving the sustainability of building products and practices in Australia and across the globe.

Voted Most Trusted Brand in the building industry for the second time in the row by Architecture & Design, confirms customers are now more than ever looking for sustainable, safer building materials and brands that demonstrate social, safety and environmental responsibility.

Weathertex is exhibiting at DesignBUILD 2019, 14-16 May at the ICC Sydney, Darling Harbour. Find out more information or get your free online sample by visiting their website www.weathertex.com.au.
